American-born French Impressionistic painter Jill Steenhuis, our journey associate, delivered us with an exceptional presentation that shares insights into the lifetime of artist Vincent van Gogh – and how his lifestyle and artistic journey have shaped her own. An Atlanta native, Jill has lived in Aix-en-Provence considering the fact that 1980, portray in the landscapes of Provence. After graduating from Sweet Briar Higher education with a BFA in studio artwork, she attended The Leo Marchutz University of Painting and Drawing in Aix. In the 1980s and 1990s, Jill was just one of the scarce artists to have a studio at the Château Noir, where Cézanne experienced his studio in the late 19th century. Jill has exhibited in solo reveals in New York Metropolis, Greenwich, Atlanta, Chicago, Washington DC, Dallas, and San Francisco, among the other main American metropolitan areas, as very well as in Aix-en-Provence and Paris.
Her work is component of the lasting collections of numerous museums and significant private collections in America and in France. Jill appeared on “Good Morning America” and served as the Cézanne professional for the Smithsonian Institute for the 100th anniversary of the painter’s death she is the Cezanne and Van Gogh expert for American museums who check out the south of France. Specializing in oil portray, lithography and watercolor, Jill captures the essence of Provence with her possess own poetry and vibrant energy – “In my portray, the catalyst is character.
