Indiana Fever open season May 14 against Liberty
The WNBA released its 2021 regular season schedule Tuesday, giving fans an official start date to the league’s 25th season.
The regular season begins Friday, May 14, as Tearia McCowan and Indiana Fever travel to face 2020 No. 1 overall pick Sabrina Ionescu and the New York Liberty in the opening game of the season.

The Fever’s home opener is Sunday, May 16, at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, also against New York.
With ongoing construction on the Fieldhouse of the Future renovation project, the Fever’s first four regular-season home games will be played at the Fieldhouse, with the remaining games at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum, located at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center. The first game at the Coliseum will be Saturday, June 12, against the Chicago Sky.
The return to Bankers Life marks the Fever’s first game in Indiana in two nearly years after the entire 2020 WNBA season was played inside a bubble at IMG Academy in Florida.

“This is such an exciting time for Fever fans to be able to welcome our team back to playing in Indianapolis this season,” Fever President Dr. Allison Barber said via news release. The amount of Fever fans who tuned in to our streaming options last season while we were in the ‘Wubble’ showed how powerful our fanbase is and the interest we have attracted throughout bordering states.
“We are going to continue to work with the WNBA and local health officials to ensure fans can cheer on the Fever in-person this year, while following safe and social distancing guidelines.”
The Indiana Fever’s entire 2021 schedule can be found here.
Ticket information at Bankers Life Fieldhouse and Indiana Farmers Coliseum can be found at FeverBasketball.com/tickets. Attendance and capacity information for both sites will be announced at a later date.
The Fever will continue to livestream home games at no cost for fans statewide at FeverBasketball.com, on the Indiana Fever’s Facebook page, or via the Fever app. This year’s streaming services will extend to fans in Ohio and Kentucky for the first time, as well.
