2 Guys Sentenced for Sterling Resort Stabbing
Daren and James Burr on Thursday have been sentenced to provide eight months in prison and 12 months in jail, respectively, for their felony convictions stemming from a September 2020 stabbing.
Soon in advance of midnight on Sept. 1, 2020, Lawrence Terry Charles was stabbed five moments in the fourth-ground hallway of the Hyatt Location in Sterling. According to an affidavit filed by Sheriff’s Business Det. Sean McCormack, Charles was speaking with a lady named Nicole Robinson in his hotel area before he stepped out into the hallway to get ice, at which place he was stabbed. Charles was taken to the healthcare facility and placed on a ventilator.
Robinson, 27, of Leesburg, Tyrell Jefferson, 37, of Leesburg, James Burr, 42, of Leesburg, and Daren Burr, 41, of Ashburn, were being all seen on protection footage leaving the lodge immediately after the stabbing.
The Sheriff’s Business office charged Jefferson and both equally Burrs with felony aggravated destructive wounding and felony destructive wounding by a mob. Robinson also was billed with aggravated malicious wounding.
On Thursday, Daren Burr entered into an Alford Plea for the aggravated malicious wounding demand, in which he did not admit guilt but acknowledged that prosecutors would current plenty of evidence to win a conviction. Prosecutors agreed to not prosecute the destructive wounding by a mob cost.
Daren Burr was sentenced to 18 months in jail, with 10 months of that time suspended.
Also on Thursday, James Burr pled responsible to both felony fees. For just about every conviction, he was sentenced to 12 months in jail with six months of that time suspended. The sentences will run consecutively.
Next a a few-day trial last month, a jury found Jefferson not responsible on each felony prices.
